Hygeine is important when using sex toys to avoid the risk of contamination both to yourself and your play-things! Here are a few simple tips for to you help keep your toys in good condition.
Jelly
These toys are made of a translucent, soft, and flexible material, similar to rubber but non-porous. Simply clean with soap and hot water.
Silicone
A far superior material to rubber or vinyl, it warms up quickly, will retains heat, is non-porous and easy to clean with soap and water. Can even be sterilised in boiling water for a few minutes if you wish.
Rubber
Flexible but more firm and heavier than jelly toys. Rubber tends to be porous and will need more attention when cleaning, again with soap and water. To avoid the risk of contamination, rubber toys can be covered with a condom and used with a water based lubricant.
Cyberskin
The nearest thing to human skin yet produced, supple and elastic. This material does not always react well to soap, so just use plenty of hot water, or use a mild alcohol based cleaning fluid.
Latex
Is non-porous and easy to clean using basic soap and water. If you use lubricants with your toy, be careful not to to use any oil based substances which will destroy the material.
Vinyl
Another easy to clean material, lacks the warm feel of other materials but they are light in weight and non-porous.
